Children’s dentistry

Your child's early experiences at the dentist can help shape the future of his or her oral health. If you're looking for a caring, compassionate dentist, look no further.  We're pleased to offer comprehensive children's dentistry in a warm, comfortable setting.

We Focus on Patient Education

At Stonehaven Dental Practice we strongly believe that an important element of children's dentistry involves teaching youngsters how to properly care for their teeth.

We encourage you to begin taking your child for regular dental check-ups as soon as the first primary teeth have erupted.  This will help to acclimatise them to the dental environment, and as your child grows, help to instil good oral hygiene habits from a young age, including how to correctly brush, floss and how to prevent tooth decay.

Our dedicated team does more than just teach children about proper oral care.

We pledge to go the extra mile to provide complete care and support when our patients need it the most. To learn more about our children's dentistry services or to schedule an appointment, call us today.

The Childsmile programme is an NHS initiative aimed at improving children's dental health in Scotland. Our dentists will help tailor a care plan to meet the needs of your child. This includes:

  • Oral health advice including: healthy weaning, diet, teething and toothbrushing.

  • Dental check-ups and treatment

  • Twice-yearly fluoride varnish applications for children aged two and above

Through prevention and education, it is hoped that your child can develop positive habits to safeguard their dental wellbeing into adulthood.

Call the practice to see when the next Childsmile Clinics take place and to book an appointment.
